Farm & Fire
I’m obsessed with Speakeasies! Ever since visiting one in New York City, I’ve been hooked and make it a must whenever I travel. So, of course once I found out we have one in our very own town I had to grab a couple of my friends to check the place out!
Farm & Fire is a Southern Pizzeria featuring three venues in one. The restaurant occupies the old Café 331 building which brought back memories of dancing the night away to the best music line-up in town. The set-up, however, is completely different now catering to a more laid-back crowd which I love.
To get to this Speakeasy you must go through the first venue, North Beach Social. This open-air bar overlooks the beautiful Choctawhatchee Bay with comfortable seating to have a drink and enjoy the view. I will definitely go back to spend more time at venue one but for now we were anxious to find this Speakeasy.
Like most Speakeasies if this is your first time visiting it’s a bit confusing to find. After passing the outdoor bar of North Beach Social you come to venue two. A glass room with couches and beautiful views of the bay. I’m still a bit confused on what exactly venue two offers so I’ll put it on the list to go back and find out.
We take a side staircase to find Venue three, Farm & Fire with the Speakeasy bar off to the side. We got there soon after it opened so pretty much had the bar to ourselves. The bartenders were very engaging and served up some flavorful craft cocktails. I had the Clara Bow Cosmo which consisted of Tito’s Vodka, Combier, Lime, and Hibiscus. It was as pretty as it was tasty, served with a real Hibiscus on the side.
It was early so we decided to order a few appetizers with our drinks. The Roasted Chicken Wings and Oven Roasted Clams were delicious. It was the perfect snack to split between three. Of course, we couldn’t leave with out trying Farm & Fire’s famous pizzas made with the freshest ingredients from local farmers and baked in 800-degree clean-burning anthracite coal ovens. We sat back with a sipping rum till the pizzas were done and took them home. It was probably one of the best pizzas I have had in the area!
All in all, this is definitely a place I look forward to visiting again. When you’re in the area Farm & Fire is a must! I suggest getting there early to relax and take in the views of the bay at North Social. After, sneak up to the Speakeasy for dinner and drinks.
