790 On The Gulf

790 On the Gulf is a scrumptious secret hidden inside the Inn at Crystal Beach. I was invited to join some friends for brunch on Sunday and was excited to find out we were forgoing the chain restaurants we so often times frequent. I was surprised when we pulled up to the Inn at Crystal Beach. I've never heard of this place, is there possibly a restaurant in Destin I have not yet dined at? I’m hoping that the efforts have been reserved for the cuisine since they are not being spent on advertising! 

As we were being seated I couldn’t help but notice the perfectly laid out dining area. The view was breathtaking, right on the beach and every table was strategically set so that all could dine with an ocean front view. We were immediately welcomed by the waiter and brought our first glass of bottomless mimosas. Now many places in Destin advertise bottomless mimosas. They come around with a pitcher already mixed and pour in your glass after it’s been sitting empty for about 20 minutes. Not at 790! A bottle of champagne and a small carafe of OJ were consistently poured before our glasses even made it to the half-way point.  

We definitely had a full share of mimosas since it took a considerable amount of time to place and receive our order. Once we did finally receive our meal it was delicious! I had the chicken salad over avocado which was fresh and tasty. My husband had the shrimp in grits which was some of the best we’ve tasted in Destin and that is saying a lot! Their brunch menu had a lot to choose from all ranging from $13 to $18 with portions perfectly sufficient.  

We left completely full and satisfied, planning our next return!
