Vision Airlines Announces Low-Fare Flight Service to Northwest Florida
Vision Airlines announces today the expansion of it’s low-fare air service from 17 new markets to the Northwest Florida Regional Airport (VPS) beginning Mar. 25 and April 1, 2011, with rates starting at $79/one way. To celebrate the largest expansion of a commercial airline in more than a decade, travelers may book flights from Northwest Florida to any of the new markets for a low $49/one way introductory fare, when booked between Jan. 18 – 23, 2011.
Vision Airlines will operate flights seven days a week using Boeing 737 and Dornier 328 aircraft. The new service provides leisure and business travelers around the country a new, low-cost way to escape to the emerald-green beaches of Northwest Florida for a weekend or the entire season.
“Vision Airlines is excited to offer these new flight services to the community of Destin-Fort Walton Beach in a confident effort to bring visitors back to the destination,” said David Meers, chief operating officer, commercial operations, Vision Airlines. “It is our desire to continue to grow our service and route structure, and offer tremendous value to travelers."
“Vision Airlines’ new low-fare service on large Boeing 737 aircraft will offer passengers affordable flights to the Emerald Coast and will bring thousands of visitors to the shores of
Destin and
Fort Walton Beach to enjoy the sugar-white beaches and clean, emerald-green water,” said Michael Stenson, business development manager of Northwest Florida Regional Airport. “Located between
Panama City to the east and
Pensacola to the west, we expect to draw passengers from all of Northwest Florida – making VPS the major airport on Florida’s Emerald Coast.”
The amphitheatre-style main stage at Harborwalk Village has been dedicated to Vision Airlines. The outdoor, waterfront venue hosts live shows and music performances throughout the year and will now feature promotions with Vision Airlines in bringing concert guests into the area.
For Okaloosa County residents, weekend vacation destinations are now only a short flight away, from the Kentucky Derby in Louisville and Asheville’s live music scene, to the country roots of Knoxville and Atlanta’s professional sporting events.
Following a challenging year for the Emerald Coast tourism industry due to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in April 2010, Vision Airlines confidently introduces non-stop, low-fare flight service from nearly 20 markets into the destination acclaimed as the “Best Beach Town in the South” for 14 consecutive years by the readers of Southern Living. The airline will continue to aggressively serve new markets around the country that offer the consumer tremendous vacation values.
