Valentine’s Day in South Walton
Last week, we gave our favorite places to dine in Destin Florida for Valentine’s Day suggestions. If you are looking to stay on the outskirts of town where it might be a little quieter, we put together another list. These are our top restaurants in the 30A area:
Louis Louis is located in Santa Rosa Beach and never disappoints. Brought to us by the same family who gave us Red Bar, Louis Louis has the same red lights with eclectic flair decorating the walls. If you are going out with another couple, Red Bar might be a better choice as they often have live music and a more social atmosphere. Louis Louis is great for a more intimate dinner and usually has a shorter wait time. Both offer a very popular menu of Pan Sauteed Grouper, Panne Chicken, and Shrimp & Crawfish Pasta. A full bar and exceptional desserts will complete your special occasion.
V Seagrove is a luxe, glass-enclosed area of Hotel Viridian on the corner of 30A in Seagrove Beach. The modern, yet sophisticated feel makes for a one-of-a-kind experience. The menu offers fresh local seafood and produce with dishes such as Gulf Oyster, Spice Crusted Ahi Tuna, and Bacon Wrapped Pork Chops.
Café Tango is a charming little cottage off the road that gets great reviews and repeat visitors. They serve European-inspired coastal cuisine in an intimate setting by reservation. Their specialties are Crab-stuffed Portobello, Grilled Lamb Rib Chops, and Lobster Ravioli. It’s a quaint little spot away from the hustle and bustle of town.
Café 30A is a casual fine-dining restaurant down 30A with a contemporary menu. They provide an assortment of fresh seafood, wood oven-fired pizzas, and an impressive wine list. The cozy and elegant atmosphere would make for a perfect evening.
Vue on 30A is a premier gulf-front vista in South Walton. They offer Sunday brunch, weekly drink and entrée specials, and an elegant menu of Escargot, Filet Mignon and Lobster dishes. With a prime location right by the water and indoor/outdoor seating, Vue was named best waterfront dining by Florida Travel + Life Magazine. It was also the Beachcomber’s favorite restaurant of 2014.
So there you have it! Now you just have to choose one and pick up some roses. It’s difficult to find less than amazing dinner in our area so whatever you decide, it will most likely be a hit. Most importantly, it’s the thought that counts and your date will appreciate your effort.
