Things to do in Destin: Couples Edition
So we have covered tons of activities for kids and teens in Destin, now let’s direct our attention to couples. Destin is full of fun and romantic places to explore with your significant other. Eden Gardens State Park is often overlooked and it has perfect spots for a picnic or stroll through the garden. It is a 161 acre park with moss-draped live oaks and the historical Wesley Mansion (fun fact: The house holds the second largest known collection of Louis XVI furniture in the United States).
Seaside is widely known for its picture perfect community and relaxing atmosphere. Along with quaint shops and art galleries, there are outdoor movies throughout the summer, wine festivals, Central Square Records and Sundog Bookstore, and many more great spots. There are quite a few amazing restaurants out that way and Red Bar in Grayton Beach is popular nationwide. With a romantic ambience, food to die for, and live entertainment, Red Bar has no problems with repeat business. Its partner restaurant, Louis Louis opened up closer to Destin and boasts the same great food with more of a quiet atmosphere.
Grand Boulevard has a variety of restaurants and shopping as well as a movie theater that opened last year. The Ovation Dining Club is a big attraction with choice seating, large leather chairs, and restaurant service with beer and wine available.
The Destin Harbor is the ideal nightlife destination with plenty of options for dining, dancing, and enjoying live entertainment. AJ’s Seafood and Oyster Bar and Hammerhead’s Bar and Grille are hotspots for music and dancing. Or try a Solaris Dinner and Dancing Cruise. The Solaris yacht boards at the Baytowne Marina and cruises the Choctawhatchee Bay.
Whether you are young or old, the Florida Panhandle has much to offer. From wine festivals to park picnics, the options are endless. Of course, these are all ideas for the rare occasion that you get beached out. But there is a reason we have one of the top beaches in the world.
