Who are we kidding? It doesn’t get that cold here in Destin, Florida. We would love for it to stay in the seventies all year but we do get a little bit of winter temperatures here. When the air turns brisk and you have a long day ahead of you, where do you go to warm up and get your energy for the day? The Emerald Coast is lucky to have a wide variety of restaurants and quaint coffee shops. Here are some of our favorite spots.
Besides offering the most amazing Power Breakfast Quinoa Bowls, First Watch is a great place for coffee. They serve over 8 million cups a year so you know it has to be good! At the beginning of the year, they began Project Sunrise. After months of traveling all over the world and meeting coffee farmers, they partnered with talented famers in Huila, Columbia for the perfect coffee to pair with First Watch’s menu. You can order Project Sunrise Coffee hot or iced and enjoy anything else on the menu. We’ve never been disappointed!
Maple Street Biscuit Company is the newest restaurant in town but is quickly becoming a favorite. Along with a delicious variety of comfort food, they serve coffee made from Arabica beans of Central and South America. Each week, the beans are freshly roasted and delivered to Maple Street Biscuit locations to be ground daily. Options include Dark Bark, Maple Tap, and Light Amber which can be purchased in bags at the restaurant. Have some coffee with a flaky buttermilk biscuit and housemade jam and you’ll be in heaven!
Black Bear Bread Company is located in Grayton Beach in a charming little shop with indoor and outdoor seating. The neighborhood bakery and coffee shop proudly serves Stumptown Coffee. Choose your preferences of flavoring and enjoy some of the best coffee in the area. We recommend pairing it with their popular cinnamon rolls but you won’t go wrong with any of their fresh pastries.
If you have time to spare, grab a seat and enjoy your morning joe in good company. If you are in a hurry, get it in a to-go cup or even purchase your own magic beans to make coffee back at your Destin or 30A vacation rental.
