Summer Concerts Begin at Gulf Place
Gulf Place is a quaint neighborhood plaza nestled on 30-A. The shopping center offers upscale boutiques, a pizza place, coffee and ice cream shop, and more. Farmers’ Markets, art displays, and outdoor concerts are all highlights around Gulf Place throughout the year. The Summer Sunday Concert Series will kick off on June 12th and take place each week from 5:00-8:00pm. Among the bands scheduled to play are Hubba Hubba kicking off the series, Chronic Jester, Déjà vu, and Continuum. Each show is free and open to the public. Guests can bring chairs and blankets, food and drinks to the amphitheater lawn.
First Friday Art Walk is a special community event taking place in Gulf Place throughout the summer. Last year, Gulf Place inherited three sea turtle statues painted by local artists. These are on display in the community showing dedication to the local arts and commitment to the protection of the sea turtles around our beaches. On the first Friday of each month, participating art galleries of South Walton will stay open late to display their art. Guests can see new artwork and meet the artists while enjoying live music and refreshments. More outdoor concerts and art shows are can be enjoyed in Destin and South Walton throughout the year.
