Mardi Gras along the Gulf Coast
Laissez les bons temps rouler or let the good times roll! This Mardi Gras slogan will roll off the tongues of many in the month of February. This Carnival that is celebrated in many countries takes place on Tuesday, February 28th 2017. It is famous throughout the US for public festivities in Mobile, Alabama and New Orleans, Louisiana. Since the Gulf Coast is always ready for a party we’ve adopted this tradition with a variety of Mardi Gras festivities!
On Friday, February 24th from 6-8pm, Destin Commons presents Mardi Gras Masquerade. A Mardi Gras Parade, live music and activities for kids makes this event quite a celebration! Over 35 floats parade down the center of Destin Commons tossing beads and trinkets. New Orleans based band Mr. Big and the Rhythm Sisters will perform while kids create festive accessories and a Mardi Gras masquerade mask painted on their face!
World of Beer will throw the after party featuring beer from local breweries as well as live music. Come in Mardi Gras attire to the Destin Commons and let the good times roll. This premiere outdoor shopping and dining center is conveniently located next to Destin Condos and Crystal Beach Rentals.
On Sunday, February 26th, Seaside throws a Mardi Gras Celebration just steps away from your 30A Rental and a brief ride from your Destin condo rental. The festivities begin at noon with face painting and balloon animals. The parade starts at 2pm featuring The Village Brass Band then a special performance by a Zydeco Band at Seaside’s Amphitheatre. Guaranteed to have you on your feet, dancing the afternoon away!
On Tuesday, February 28th, The Orange Beach Mardi Gras Parade begins at 2pm. This is a BIG celebration with over 50 units in the Fat Tuesday parade drawing a crowd of over 30,000! Gather around the two-mile stretch of Perdido Beach Boulevard, a short distance from your Perdido Key Condo Rental, for a chance to catch some beads and other fun Mardi Gras embellishments!
Three beach towns and three days full of parties, parades, live music and masquerades! Choose one or choose them all celebrating Mardi Gras along the Gulf Coast!
