Five Foods You Must Have When Visiting Florida’s Emerald Coast
Every region has foods that it’s famous for. New York Cheesecake, Chicago Deep Dish Pizza, California Sour Dough Bread, Philadelphia Cheese Steak and Oregon’s Voodoo Doughnuts just to name a few. When visiting the Emerald Coast of Florida these five foods are a must!
Grilled Oysters: Oysters on the half shell grilled with all your favorite ingredients. Rockefeller, cheese & bacon, shrimp & crab and garlic butter just to name a few. Where’s the best place to get these delicious eatables of the sea? Stinky’s Fish Camp Seafood & Wine Bar in Santa Rosa Beach by the beautiful beaches of 30A is one of our favorites!
Sushi: Delicious seafood such as tuna, salmon, shrimp and yellowtail rolled into rice and seaweed topped with crab or Jalapeno slices. It’s your chance to master chop sticks as you dip these little circles filled with flavor into soy sauce and wasabi. Who’s our favorite sushi chefs? You can find them at Camille’s. A quaint little restaurant on the second floor of Beachside Inn across from the beautiful beaches of Destin, Florida.
Fish Tacos: Fried or grilled grouper wrapped in a soft flour tortilla with lettuce, Pico de Gallo, queso fresco and chipotle mayonnaise. Where on the Emerald Coast can you find the best fish tacos? Our favorite is Pompano Joe’s. This restaurant in Miramar Beach sits directly on the sand so you can enjoy a view of the Gulf of Mexico while chowing down on delicious fish tacos.
Smoked Tuna Dip: Chunks of tuna smoked to perfection made into a creamy dip is the perfect appetizer. Our favorite fish dip can be found at Boshamps Seafood & Oyster House. The house smoked yellowfin tuna dip is served with house-cured pickled vegetables and a beautiful view of the Destin Harbor.
Crab Legs: Snow Crab Legs, Dungeness Crab and King Crab Legs can all be found on the menu at our favorite crab restaurant, The Crab Trap! Found on the beaches of Perdido Key, Florida you’ll love the view and the delicious flavor of fresh crab dipped in warm melted butter. It’s definitely worth the work so get to cracking!
