Destin Charity Wine Auction Exceeds Expectations

The Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation proudly presented their biggest event for the 7th year in a row on Saturday, April 28th. The Reserve Tasting and Auction is an exclusive event that features distinctive wines poured and paired with fine cuisine all for the goal of raising money for local children’s charities. The event took place at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort’s Linkside Center which was perfectly transformed inside and outside for a “red carpet” event!

The outdoor walk-about and silent auction began at 1:00pm sharp with the handing out of wine glasses. A very well dressed crowd leisurely arrived and walked through to enjoy a taste from internationally acclaimed vintners and the area's top chefs before entering the live auction. At 3:00pm all made their way to the live auction which was held inside a tastefully decorated banquet room. There was a never ending supply of wine and hors d’ oeuvres at each table served throughout the auction.

The live-auction was simply outstanding! The auctioneer did a marvelous job stirring up the crowd. It was impressive to see so many in the audience open their hearts and wallets to such a great cause. Equally impressive was the giving spirit of the many Vintners, Chefs, and Organizations that donated such incredible experiences for the event.

John Russell hosted the event in his new role as President of the Destin Charity Wine Auction. Over a million dollars was raised that day, surpassing last year’s total by over 20%. A well deserving “Kudos” to the Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation and all that were involved in this amazing event!
