Create Your Own Oktoberfest Along the Emerald Coast of Florida
Oktoberfest is a huge beer drinking festival that happens during the months of September and October in Germany. This festival has been adopted in the U.S. by many food and beverage establishments because, let's face it, who doesn’t love a festival geared around drinking beer. Unfortunately, 2020 has been the year for canceled beer festivals and Oktoberfest celebrations, but who says you can’t create your own! Here are our favorite breweries along the Emerald Coast of Florida.
We will start the Oktoberfest celebration in Panama City Beach. First stop, Salty Oak Brewing Company to check out their new taproom. Beers on tap include Uncle Ryan’s Wild berry Sour, Strawberry Cider and Charlieweizen Hefeweizen. Grab some beer to go because the next stop is one of our favorites.
Idyll Hounds Brewery is located on the north side of 98,
just a couple of minutes from 30A
beaches. The taproom is spacious and there is plenty of outdoor seating. There’s always a good selection of beers on tap including a couple of my favorites; Divide and Conchr’ a double IPA and Bye Felicia Sour.
You don’t have to travel far for our next stop. Literally within walking distance from Idyll Hounds is Grayton Beer Company. They’ve got a big taproom and some great draft beers including 30A Beach Blonde and 30A
Rose. Grayton Beer Company also has Grayton Beer Pub located right on 30A.
There you will find some of your favorite Grayton Brewery beers along with delicious
appetizers and entrees.
We will be crossing the mid-bay bridge for this next Brewery.
3rd Planet Brewing Company is located in Niceville, just a bay away
from the beautiful beaches of Destin. It’s a fun stop with some great beers. Some of our favorites on draft include Dank Side of the Moon, a New England Style IPA, and Boggy Bayou Stout, a sweet and decadent stout with flavors of vanilla and cocoa.
We get back to Destin and head west to our most favorite
brewery of them all! Destin Brewery is located on the north side of 98, just a
few steps from the Destin Harbor.
We love this brewery for its quaint taproom and variety of beers. Some of our
favorites are Mango Habanero IPA, Blood Orange Blonde Ale, Grapefruit Kolsch,
and Sour Amanda Guava Sour. With a great selection on tap and friendly staff you
will find yourself spending quite a bit of time at this one.
West of Destin you will find several breweries with more
popping up monthly. On your way to Pensacola make sure to visit Ye Olde
Brothers Brewery in Navarre. Once you get to the city stop in at Gulf Coast Brewery,
Pensacola Bay Brewery, Perfect Plain Brewery, Big Top Brewing Company, and the
list goes on. If you are heading to the beautiful beaches of Perdido Key, make sure to visit Gary’s Brewery & Biergarten.
Wow! There are so many breweries popping up on the Emerald
Coast of Florida. Find your favorite and create your own Oktoberfest
celebration during the month of October. Nothing goes better together then Beer
and the beautiful beaches of the Emerald
Coast of Florida!
