Best Lunch Spots on the Beach
The Emerald Coast has seemingly endless options when it comes to dining out. Fresh seafood, award-winning restaurants, and delicious coastal cuisine can be found around almost every corner. When you’re playing at the beach all day, you can work up an appetite. We put together some of our favorite places to get lunch on a beach day.
Pompano Joe’s Seafood House is a popular spot right on the beach. It’s known for having award-winning Gumbo but has a wide range of seafood prepared with a Caribbean flavor. Enjoy fish tacos and fresh oysters or a classic burger and fries. You can eat upstairs in the open-air restaurant with Gulf views and multiple TV’s or enjoy your meal downstairs on the beach.
The Crab Trap is the original Gulf-front seafood restaurant. Choose from crab legs and grouper to steak and pasta. This open-air restaurant is located at James Lee Park and boasts an outdoor tiki bar, children’s playground, and volleyball area.
The Surf Hut is located in Miramar Beach and has been a popular spot since opening in 2014. The menu includes a variety of seafood as well as pulled pork tacos and barbecue ribs. Surf Hut is situated right on the beach with island décor and cornhole boards out back.
You’ll find Shunk Gulley Oyster Bar across from the beach near 30A vacation rentals. Named after the legendary fishing reef off our coast, Shunk Gulley offers coastal cuisine, live music daily, and beautiful Gulf views from multiple levels. The menu includes a variety of oyster dishes, salads, and seafood with some specialty items such as Fried Sweet Tea Chicken Fingers and Beignet Fries. Shunk Gulley has won two “30A Hot Spot Awards”.
Dine in at one of our favorite beach restaurants and enjoy the views or grab your food to-go and eat by the water. If you want a light lunch, grab a sub at Publix or Winn Dixie. They also offer pre-cut fruit in small batches to pack in a cooler. Or fill a bucket with wings and take them for your crew. Choose your delicious beach meal and enjoy it with a gorgeous backdrop of the Emerald Coast.
