32nd Annual Destin Seafood Festival
Since 1979 the Destin Seafood Festival has been an event that never gets old or loses its charm. Each year thousands of hungry locals and visitors alike look forward to listening to popular musical acts, dining on the tastiest seafood around and enjoying the refreshing autumn weather. The festivals location on the harbor only adds to the allure. Each evening, as Destin’s charter boat fleet docks, it is truly entertaining to admire the boats and their quirky names against the backdrop of the sunset.
Previous years have seen fantastic turn outs and some really fun concerts. The Commodores performed in 2008 and were as sparkly and synchronized as ever while Joan Jett stunned fans with her fabulous figure and performance in 2009. For 2010 the stage will be set with Loverboy and Starship and there is no doubt it will be a great couple of shows.
There are few experiences as fun as walking around with a daiquiri in one hand and some coconut crusted shrimp or alligator bites or jambalaya or crawfish etouffee or lobster bisque or grouper fingers (there are so many choices) while listening to the rhythm of timeless musical talent. Local artists also show off their styles in several dozen artists booths and there are always games and crafts for the kids. The three day pass is the best and most cost effective way to enjoy the festival and see each band. Plus, there will be plenty of time to try all the delicious
seafood and enjoy the fall weather.
